Blue Coat Names Rene Arvin Vice President Of Europe, Middle East And Africa
SUNNYVALE, Calif., January 30, 2006 – Blue Coat® Systems (NASDAQ: BCSI), the leader in secure content and application delivery, today announced that Rene Arvin has joined Blue Coat as vice president of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Arvin assumes general management responsibilities for the region and will work to accelerate the market adoption of Blue Coat proxy appliances throughout those regions.

Arvin brings over 18 years of experience in sales, management and market development with a proven track record of considerable results. He joins Blue Coat from Packeteer, where he served as vice president of EMEA, growing revenue by 130 percent and creating a global channel program and adding top systems integrators and service providers. Prior to Packeteer, Arvin served as managing director of Congress Communications Plc., which delivered outsourced services to US technology companies, including Netscreen, Inktomi, Juniper, ArrowPoint, TopLayer, and more. He also has held vice president of sales positions with Alcatel and Xylan.
