Forum Systems Acquires Kenai Systems to Expand Service-Oriented Security Portfolio

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — February 2, 2006 — Forum Systems, the leader in Web services and SOA security for threat protection and trust management, today announced that it has acquired Kenai Systems, a Rocklin, CA-based privately-held company that provides vulnerability assessment and policy compliance solutions for Web services and Service Oriented Architectures (SOAs). Forum Systems plans to integrate Kenai’s security assessment tools within its Seamless Security Solutions Architecture (Forum S3Aâ„?) and offer the most complete SOA security offering for the design, development and run-time of SOAs. Kenai Systems was recently named as one of ten cool companies to watch in 2006, by the Gartner Group.

“We look to develop or acquire technologies that will reduce risk when implementing SOAs,” said Wes Swenson, CEO and President of Forum Systems. “Kenai’s eXamine tool allows our customers to gain much needed visibility into security and compliance exposures. Combine this with our XML Firewall and Gateway solutions and you get the most comprehensive SOA security solution on the market.”

Kenai Systems’ eXamine family of products provide an automated framework for security and policy compliance for business-class Web services. Key products include:

· eXamineXT enables developers and QA engineers to test Web services for exposure to security vulnerabilities.

· eXamineSOA is a policy based security and compliance tool allowing security professionals to define policies and best practices that will automatically generate and run tests cases.

· eXamineSOA Enterprise adds a multi-user shared library to eXamineSOA, enabling enterprises to share policies, test suites, cases and results, enabling centralized control over the development and implementation of its vulnerability assessment and security profiling.

“The existing synergy between our technologies and customers validated the motivation to move ahead with this acquisition,” said Bill Kesselring, CEO of Kenai Systems. “It makes all the sense in the world for our customers to get a suite of security capabilities from a single vendor. The policy definition of eXamine combined with the enforcement capabilities of Forum XWall and Sentry brings to market a total security solution for SOAs.”
