The largest network security event in Asia

Hack In The Box has announced that it will once again be hosting the industry’s most anticipated annual security conference, HITBSecConf2006, in Kuala Lumpur at The Westin Hotel from 18-21 September 2006.

This home-grown non-profit hacking and network security conference will feature over 30 of the world’s leading network security specialists who will be on hand to conduct 7 tracks of technical training sessions on the 18th and 19th of September. Topics for the training sessions include advance web application & services hacking; attacking & defending networks; the exploit laboratory; tactical VoIP: applied VoIPhreaking; War driving .Gov; structured network threat analysis and forensics; and Yin and Yang of Java security programming.

This training will then be followed by two days of deep knowledge network security presentations with topics ranging from network assessment and attack methods, fundamental defense methodologies, and the latest computer and network security technologies.

In addition, there will also be a live hacking competition known popularly as Capture The Flag. The competition, first developed and presented at Defcon in Las Vegas, is an attack and defense game which sees teams of individuals tasked with defending and attacking into prepared servers in order to retrieve marked files or flags on these target machines.
