Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Clearswift MIMESweeper for SMTP
Kaspersky Lab released the Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Clearswift MIMESweeper for SMTP which provides high-speed antivirus scanning for all incoming SMTP traffic on servers that use MIMESweeper software. The
release of this product represents an important milestone in the highly successful collaboration between Kaspersky Lab and Clearswift, which began in 2005 with plans to integrate Kaspersky Anti-Virus with the Clearswift MIMESweeper SMTP Appliance.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Clearswift MIMESweeper for SMTP provides effective protection of email traffic for companies that use Clearswift MIMESweeper due to the fact that the product uses Kaspersky Anti-Virus, a solution renowned for its accuracy, reliability and high detection rate of malicious programs. Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Clearswift MIMESweeper for SMTP uses an in-built update mechanism to download signature updates from Kaspersky Lab servers on the Internet, either on demand or on schedule (every 30 minutes, hourly or every three hours depending on the settings). Importantly, Kaspersky Anti-Virus supports cluster and distributed configurations.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Clearswift MIMESweeper for SMTP scans all incoming email traffic in real time and removes any malicious programs that it detects. The solution can be configured and administered using
the administration tools already available in Clearswift MIMESweeper, which enable administrators to apply flexible security policies to the protected network. If group policies for processing email messages are enabled in the application settings for Clearswift MIMESweeper, these policies can also be applied to antivirus scanning. When infected messages are detected, email notifications are automatically sent to the system administrator. Additionally, information about the application’s operation and detection of malicious programs is logged in files and databases to help the system administrator locate the source of infected messages.
