ISS becomes key new member of Microsoft’s SecureIT Alliance

Internet Security Systems has become the newest member of the SecureIT Alliance. Created by Microsoft, the Alliance consists of security industry leaders who are working together to develop products that protect consumers from threats to the Microsoft platform.

The goal of the SecureIT Alliance is to facilitate an open exchange among members for sharing best practices on developing the best possible security products for computer users and ensuring that the products can be easily and tightly integrated with Microsoft’s platform.

Joining the SecureIT Alliance further expands ISS’ robust industry collaboration effort. Through its responsible disclosure policy, ISS regularly works closely with major technology vendors including Microsoft to assist in reporting and correcting security flaws. Additionally, ISS is a member of several high-profile security initiatives including the National Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIAC), which President Bush appointed ISS President and CEO Tom Noonan to serve on as a founding member in 2002.
