Cigital’s new appointments add deep technical expertise

Cigital, Inc. announced the appointment of Craig Miller as Principal Consultant and Sammy Migues as Director of Knowledge Management. Both Dr. Miller and Mr. Migues have years of experience in technical leadership, Dr. Miller as CTO of Proxicom, and Mr. Migues as Principal Scientist at Cybertrust.

“We have always been known for our hard core software expertise at Cigital,” said Dr. Gary McGraw, CTO of Cigital. “The addition of these two technical thought leaders will ensure that Cigital clients continue to be mentored by the best in the business.”

Dr. Miller has more than 30 years of experience in IT organization building and consulting. He is a recognized leader in emergent, bus-centric architectures at the enterprise level, and the organizational and process changes necessary to bring them about. He joins Cigital from the MAPA Group, where he worked on strategy and planning with startup organizations and companies entering new markets. In his earlier career, he was a Chief Scientist at SAIC, and the first CTO of Proxicom. He participated in the sale of Proxicom to Dimension Data where he stayed on as the North American CTO and Global Chief Architect. In 1997 he was awarded a gold medal by the Smithsonian Institution for “Heroic Achievement in Information Technology.”

Mr. Migues brings his 25 years information security experience in government and commercial environments to bear when converting security knowledge into actionable business solutions. He was a key contributor to critical early software security initiatives, including work on the NSA “rainbow books,” developing formal proofs for software properties and software evaluation, detailing trusted software development methods, and applying both black-box and white-box software testing methods. He most recently focused on the knowledge management aspects of information security governance and compliance, providing direct guidance to Fortune 500 leaders on efficiently “building security in” to everyday business activities.
