Beta version of BitDefender 10 Internet Security for Microsoft Windows Vista

BitDefender announced that it now offers consumers one of the industry’s highest levels of antimalware protection for those using Microsoft’s new Windows Vista platform. Available immediately through BitDefender’s web site, the beta version of BitDefender 10 Internet Security for Microsoft Vista includes a full suite of Internet security features, including anti-virus, anti-spam, anti-spyware, firewalls and parental control.

Beta versions of BitDefender’s stand-alone anti-virus product lines will also be made available shortly, and Vista-compatible versions of BitDefender Antivirus, BitDefender Antivirus Plus and BitDefender Internet Security are set to be fully released in January 2007, at the same time as Windows Vista is released for consumer use. Upgrading to the Vista-compatible version of a BitDefender product will be free for all BitDefender users, trial users and subscribers.

“While Windows Vista includes many improved security features, consumers should not dismiss the fact that hackers are already developing ways to infect computer systems through this platform,” said Carmen Maierean, BitDefender Product Manager. “Without missing a beat, BitDefender consistently offers its customers the most comprehensive security solutions for protecting malware. Our support for Windows Vista is yet another example of this commitment.”

“This Beta test is the last in a series of steps we took to ensure that BitDefender customers wishing to migrate to Vista can do so without any troubles. We are counting on great interest from the BitDefender user community and we are certain that the finished product will indeed meet their most exacting demands,” continued Maierean.
