Captain Kirk keynoting a computer security conference

This year, the man long known to Star Trek fans as Captain Kirk joins more than 1,800 information security professionals in celebrating technology and innovation at InfoSec World Conference and Expo 2007, the key IT security event being held March 19-21, 2007 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Fla.

The conference will tackle every angle of information security today. Along with hearing William Shatner’s keynote address “From Science Fiction to Science Fact,” attendees can learn about two-factor authentication, strategies for preventing data leakage, ways to protect employees’ information while they’re on the road, and how top organizations have successfully enforced security policies.

The event features many lively keynote addresses. The FBI’s Cyber Initiative & Resource Fusion Unit Chief Daniel Larkin will share “An FBI Insider’s View of Cyber-Crime.” In this important keynote address, Dan Larkin, a modern cyber-crusader, will share his views on the current cyber threats and offer insider details on arrests including Russian mobsters and eBay fraudsters.
Additional keynote speakers include Jonathan Zittrain, Professor of Internet Governance and Regulation at Oxford University presenting, “Without a Net: The Looming Threat to Computer Life as We Know It,” and author and chief technology writer/senior editor for Newsweek, Steven Levy presenting “Privacy and Security: How Do We Get Out of the Impasse?”

Sessions at InfoSec World Conference & Expo 2007 cover everything from SOX security management to RFID hacking to securing VoIP and VoWiFi. In addition, over 150 IT vendors will be on hand at the InfoSec World Expo to demonstrate the latest security products. Attendees can gain insights from vendors, make new business contacts, and enter to win big prizes.

Special event programs also include an intensive one-day summit focused on how to implement and maintain compliance with SOX, HIPAA, GLBA and other existing and emerging laws – without overwhelming your department or your organization, and a CISO Executive Summit, where attendees will discover how their peers from diverse industries tackle and manage their security challenges.
