RSA 2007: Identisphere – unified access policy management product announced
Applied Identity today announced that it is introducing a new product suite called Identisphere. Extending the company’s identity-driven offerings and expertise, the Identisphere hardware and software combination solutions suite offers unified policy access management functionality that provides organizations with a seamless solution for both managing multiple & disparate directories, and for developing and managing fine-grained user policy.
Identisphere enhances the access control capabilities of companies currently using Applied Identity’s existing Identiforce appliance, while also providing all organizations with a new, relatively low impact and quick-to-deploy alternative to meta-directories and localized policy development — at significantly lower cost, without an infrastructure overhaul. Moreover, by uniquely combining a robust directory virtualization offering with ability to create a unified, more efficient access policy, Identisphere provides organizations with a more extensible and flexible solution for their directory management needs that also ties into longer term identity management initiatives.
The Identisphere suite is comprised of two products — a directory virtualization offering and policy lifecycle management software. The product line is currently in early deployment with several companies and general availability is expected in late Q1 2007. In December 2006, Applied Identity was selected by a U.S. organization with over 120,000 employees to deploy Identisphere.
The combined Identiforce and Identisphere product lines give Applied Identity the unique ability to:
” Combine directory virtualization with network access control; and
” Consolidate identity and policy management within the directory;
” Enable turnkey policy life cycle management;
” Record digital fingerprints of network resource access events.
