SecurStar releases new version of DriveCrypt

SecurStar GmbH has updated its DriveCrypt products compatible with Microsoft’s new Windows Vista operating system.

DriveCrypt 4.6 provides data encryption for confidential information stored in notebooks and desktop computers in a fast and secure way with its “on the fly” encryption. Some features give users the possibility of encrypting an entire hard disk partition or creating a “virtual safe” container for storing encrypted files, preventing attackers from accessing sensitive information. Protected data may be accessed by password or, optionally, a USB token, smart card or fingerprint reader.

An additional special feature is the option to encrypt confidential data using steganography. This function allows for “hiding” any type of data inside a music file.
