Aldebaran Systems announced the availability of version 4.0 of their flagship product ServerAssist. ServerAssist, which has been described as the most comprehensive server monitoring solution has added the capability of monitoring non-Windows devices.
Specifically, the new version will allow IT professionals to proactively identify problems with devices such as switches, routers, printers, and any other device that supports SNMP. With this information IT professionals will have the ability to fix problems before they happen. This is in addition to the robust and comprehensive Windows server health monitoring that is already available with ServerAssist.
Initial setup of ServerAssist is quick and painless as it can be deployed over the network from an administrator’s desktop. ServerAssist provides both an MMC snap-in and a web-based interface, and both local and remote computers can be fully managed using either interface.
