AirDefense wins large contract with BT

AirDefense announced it was awarded a large contract by BT to secure the company’s wireless airwaves throughout several offices located in the United Kingdom (UK). BT has deployed AirDefense Enterprise in 15 of their 21 UK offices and is planning to roll out the solution in many other European locations in 2007.

“It is a delight to be working with AirDefense to ensure the highest levels of security for BT’s mobile and agile workforce,” said Ray Stanton, BT’s global head business continuity, security and governance. “The evaluation and testing process was extremely rigorous and thorough and AirDefense was the clear cut winner. At BT we take security seriously and without AirDefense I wouldn’t be convinced that we could lock down our wireless networks from outside intrusions.”

BT was challenged with monitoring wireless traffic and enforcing corporate security policies across a highly mobile workforce accessing the network from multiple locations. AirDefense Enterprise allows BT to continuously monitor its WLAN by providing maximum security and operational integrity of the system. Deploying AirDefense has resulted in increased productivity in BT’s workforce, compliance with internal security policies and an increased demand for wireless applications and continued expansion of the WLAN.
