D-Link unveils a new VPN firewall solution for SMB
D-Link unveiled the newest member to its NetDefend family, a new D-Link firewall designed to be a cost-effective security solution suited for the small to medium-sized business (SMB). The new D-Link DFL-S500 is a powerful VPN SSL Firewall that will ship with seven LAN ports, two WAN ports, and a user-configurable port to support local servers such as e-mail, Web, and FTP.
The D-Link DFL-S500 provides customized end-to-end security and delivers remote access benefits including Web-based clientless access and full network access without pre-installed desktop software. The latest addition to the popular NetDefend line of security solutions will be on display in the D-Link booth, #1261, at the Interop tradeshow this week 5/22-5/24.
Providing users and organizations with a flexible and secure single- platform format to extend networking resources from virtually any remote user with Internet access, the new D-Link NetDefend DFL-S500 SSL VPN Firewall offers a customizable remote access experience, while minimizing desktop support costs and eliminating the need for costly security
The D-Link DFL-S500 protects against viruses, worms, spyware, and hackers on the virtual private network (VPN) connection by integrating network and endpoint security. The DFL-S500 hardware includes seven LAN ports, two WAN ports, and a user-configurable port to support local servers such as e-mail, Web, and FTP. All of these features conveniently fit into a desktop chassis that easily can be integrated into an existing network.
To provide enterprise-class network security, the DFL-S500 has several flexible firewall features to manage, monitor, and maintain a healthy and secure network. Network management features include remote management, bandwidth control policies, access policies and simple network management protocol (SNMP). For network monitoring, the DFL-S500 supports e-mail alerts, system log, and consistency checks, along with a firmware backup function to provide and maintain maximum network performance and security.
The D-Link NetDefend SSL VPN Firewall (DFL-S500) is expected to ship in this quarter to the company’s network of retail outlets, value-added resellers and distributors.
