The whole security suite on a USB stick
Yoggie Security Systems announced the launch of a groundbreaking new concept in personal security appliances for laptops and PCs: for the first time users can access 13 security applications on a miniature computer contained in a USB stick. Uniquely, the Yoggie Pico, a full and robust Linux based computer, offloads all security applications onto the USB stick allowing Internet traffic to be screened before it executes on the laptop or PC and only once it has been cleansed is it allowed to enter the computer.
No bigger than your thumb, the new Yoggie Pico manages the 13 security applications, including updates. It is also the most powerful computer to be placed into a USB stick and is an Intel Pentium level 520 MHz platform. Through the combination of offloading security onto a piece of dedicated hardware and its patent pending technologies the Yoggie Pico is not exposed to PC-related vulnerabilities as its software only counterparts are. The Yoggie Pico is available in two formats: The Yoggie Pico Personal for the consumer market and the Yoggie Pico Pro for the enterprise market. Both units hold a 520 MHz CPU and a 128MB memory.
The Yoggie Pico Personal offers 13 layers of security applications while the Yoggie Pico Pro is part of a two component enterprise solution that offers an additional layer in terms of a VPN Client and also an interface to the Yoggie Management Server (YMS).
The Yoggie Pico Pro allows IT managers to control their travelling workforces by enforcing policy using the Yoggie Management Server. The YMS can manage up to 500 Yoggie units when they leave the safe corporate environment.
The Yoggie Pico Personal retails at ?95/$179 (US) with licensing from year two at ?16/$30. The Yoggie Pico Pro retails at ?106/$199, with licensing from year 2 is ?21/$40 (US).
The units will be available from www.yoggie.com and will also be available from leading PC retail units around Europe and the US from September 2007.
