ArcMail Technology announced the release of ArcMail Defender U3160, a stand-alone network appliance offering 16 TB of storage and data integrity technology.
The ArcMail Defender U3160 appliance is a transparent solution that runs seamlessly in the background of a network infrastructure without interrupting productivity or work flow. With a simple Web-based interface, administrators and end-users can search and retrieve information they need while at the office or remotely. Users can launch the ArcMail Defender U3160 directly from Outlook to instantly search and restore emails, and administrators can monitor system settings and produce reports to ensure that email is being successfully archived.
The appliance captures all inbound, outbound and internal email using the mail server’s journaling function, which indexes the email header and text information. The new appliance operates on the Linux platform and is compatible with MS Exchange, Lotus Notes, Groupwise and many other mail servers with SMTP journaling functionality. It is also compatible with Active Directory, which allows automatic user account management.
