Log Management 10 comes with compliance enhancements

Ipswitch announced its log management software solution, WhatsUp Log Management 10 which provides out-of-the-box security and compliance for businesses of all sizes.

The solution provides over one hundred pre-packaged reports organized according to government and industry regulations so IT managers can quickly select the reports necessary for their individual business need. These reports are then compressed and delivered to secure directories in accordance with FIPS 140-2 cryptographic standards to prevent unauthorized viewing.

Users can manage all of their critical log files from a GUI-driven intuitive application, where they can automate log collection, storage, archiving, monitoring, alerting and reporting activities. Up to 300+ event alarms are available straight out of the box, however users can configure their own depending on their particular needs.

In addition, users with large disparate networks can set a customizable flood control to ensure the volume of logs generated doesn’t get overwhelming and only focus in on the most relevant information.

Key features:

  • Seamless Syslog support – Event Archiver chronicles Syslog messages directly to ensure robustness in even the most heterogeneous environment.
  • New pre-built compliance-centric reports – includes pre-packaged reports for Sarbanes Oxley, HIPAA, FISMA, PCI, MiFID, Gramm-Leach Bliley and Cisco IOS.
  • New support for IIS/W3C log formats to manage logs from Web Application Servers, Load Balancers, Firewalls, Proxy Servers and Content Security appliances.
  • New add-on resources such as Auditing Volume Analyser to aid in determining database storage requirements for archived logs; Event Archiver Importing Tool to consolidate log files over a WAN; and ELM/WUG integration tool to add stored procedures to their ELM SQL databases, and to simplify log management tasks from a single console.
