A basic shift in network defense

“In our industry, most of the companies we were working with have spent the the better part of the past ten years securing the perimeter of the network with intrusion detection, prevention systems, as well as firewalls,” says Mike Potts, President and CEO of Lancope. “And what we’re seeing now is that that is simply not enough.”

In this podcast recorded at RSA Conference 2012, he talks about the evolutions in the security industry and how the companies are reacting to the realization that it is not a question of “if” their network will be compromised, but “when”.
