Bogus “Booking Confirmation” emails lead to malware

Booking.com is a well-known and very helpful website for those looking for deals when planning their travels, but if you’re a habitual user, be wary of malicious emails misusing the name, Hoax-Slayer warns.

Fake emails purportedly coming from the site’s “Customer Service Team” are hitting inboxes and trying to trick users into downloading and running the attached executable file:

The attachment is actually a backdoor Trojan, and the only good thing about it is the fact that it is detected by the majority of the AV solutions used by VirusTotal.
