Dell announced SonicWALL Hosted Email Security 2.0, a cloud-based service providing multi-layered email threat protection backed by 24/7 online and phone support.
Dell Email Security solutions use multiple patented threat detection techniques (including reputation checks), the Dell SonicWALL Global Response Intelligent Defense Network for global threat detection, and multiple anti-virus technologies to offer greater security.
The technology also provides directory harvest attack (DHA) protection, Denial of Service (DoS) protection and sender validation. Advanced techniques are also used to analyze email content, such as adversarial Bayesian filtering, image analysis and gibberish detection to uncover hidden known threats and new threats.
With Version 2.0, Hosted Email Security includes outbound email scanning and policy filters to safeguard company reputations by identifying and blocking outbound email from zombies and unauthorized senders as well as email containing viruses.
The service is fast to deploy and to administer. There is no on-premises equipment to install, maintain or upgrade, reducing administrator burden. The service is easily activated, provisioned and managed online at hosted.mysonicwall.com and may be configured to automatically sync with LDAP servers for quick setup.
Spam management can be delegated to end users to reduce IT support burden and increase end-user satisfaction.
Available immediately, the new release also offers customers the option of provisioning their hosted email security service through data centers in either the US or Europe to meet organizational policy or regulatory requirements.
