PacStar launches enterprise gateway solutions for classified networks

PacStar, a leading developer and supplier of advanced communications solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), introduced PacStar Enterprise CSfC Solutions (ECS), a suite of enterprise gateway services designed for classified networks using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products.

PacStar ECS is a family of gateway solutions that scale from small installations with less than 100 secure connections to large enterprise-class services supporting thousands of concurrent users.

PacStar ECS is designed to meet the security and configuration requirements of the National Security Agency (NSA) Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) program, which enables DoD and Federal organizations to transmit classified information using commercial, encryption components.

PacStar ECS enables entirely new use cases, significantly reduces equipment costs over Type 1 encryption hardware, and enables U.S. Coalition Partner interoperability without using controlled cryptographic items (CCI).

PacStar ECS enables the following:

  • Executive mobility (i.e. laptops and smartphones)
  • Site-to-site extensions of classified networks (i.e. expeditionary kits, branch offices, multi-building campus)
  • Classified campus-area wireless connections

PacStar ECS is managed by PacStar IQ-Core Crypto Manager which simplifies maintenance, unifies management, reduces complexity, decreases downtime, and shortens training for PacStar ECS administrators.

IQ-Core CM is purpose-built to meet the essential Key Management Requirements for CSfC systems and dramatically simplifies the error-prone process of issuing, managing, and renewing the PKI certificates.

PacStar was recently awarded US Patent Number 10,469,268 for its innovative management of encryption and PKI capabilities required to meet the rigorous NSA CSfC standards which are included in its powerful IQ-Core Crypto Manager.

This patent joins an extensive family of PacStar patents covering mobile deployable networking and communications, mechanical and electrical engineering, thermal management, and software management.

“PacStar ECS leverages our networking and software management expertise, gained through years of experience in the development and fielding numerous tactical CSfC solutions” said Peggy Miller, chief executive officer, PacStar.

“PacStar is proud to have been selected for multiple implementations of PacStar ECS, expanding our CSfC business from the tactical edge to the enterprise.”
