Digital Guardian DLP for Microsoft Teams reduces the risk of sensitive data loss

Digital Guardian announced the availability of its endpoint DLP visibility and security controls for Microsoft Teams. This integration provides DLP to further protect sensitive data given the growing use of Teams in the hybrid work environment.

“With Digital Guardian’s Endpoint DLP now integrated with Microsoft Teams, enterprise organizations can apply our proven enterprise DLP to their Teams environment, helping to prevent inadvertent or malicious data loss,” said Digital Guardian Chief Executive Officer Mordecai Rosen. “This integration gives information security leaders the deep data visibility and granular controls required to protect sensitive data in Teams without impeding employee collaboration.”

Digital Guardian’s Endpoint DLP is now seamlessly integrated with Teams enabling organizations to:

  • Enhance visibility and endpoint control over Teams messages and shared files for maximum protection against insider threats and associated data loss
  • Apply Microsoft Information Protection sensitivity labels to confidential documents in Teams to optimize their existing security investments
  • Ensure compliance with exacting data protection regulations and privacy laws including GDPR and PCI DSS

Providing near real-time data visibility, Digital Guardian analyzes all Teams messages and their attachments, compares them to established DLP policies, and alerts security teams to any violations. Importantly, Digital Guardian DLP for Microsoft Teams performs keyword searches around all messages and attachments, delivering broader context into potential insider threats.

Identifying the highest-risk incidents, the solution’s automated remediation removes those messages or attachments that violated an organization’s data handling and protection policy. Offering unmatched usability and actionability, Digital Guardian also enables manual review of policy violations, arming security analysts with the ability to execute remediations as needed.

“We are pleased to see Digital Guardian join the Microsoft Teams ecosystem of integrated DLP solutions. With the work-from-home model evolved into a hybrid, work-from-anywhere world, IT and security leaders are looking to empower the workforce with innovative tools that foster collaboration while preventing data loss for Microsoft 365 customers,” said Yaron Hezroni, principal program manager for Teams Ecosystem, Microsoft. “Digital Guardian benefits from Teams Graph APIs to deliver streamlined workflows necessary to drive employee success while ensuring the protection of the business’ most critical corporate data.”

Digital Guardian’s DLP for Teams is available now as an add-on module to all Digital Guardian customers through certified partners or the Azure Marketplace.
