SafeNet releases ProtectDrive Enterprise Version

SafeNet announced today the availability of ProtectDrive Enterprise Version, hard drive encryption software for protecting sensitive data on laptops, workstations and servers that is fully integrated with Microsoft’s Active Directory management system.

ProtectDrive Enterprise Version allows the choice of local management per workstation or full central management through Active Directory, ensuring that administrators work within a familiar management environment. This unique approach allows organizations to use their existing software, hardware, processes and knowledge to centrally manage the disk encryption functionality.

ProtectDrive Enterprise Version delivers the highest level of usability available, which keeps application training requirements to a minimum, enables rapid user adoption across an organization, facilitates streamlined deployment and keeps expenses down.

“SafeNet works closely with Microsoft and other major players in the market to help our customers reduce the total cost of ownership,” said Andy Solterbeck, vice president and general manager, SafeNet Commercial Enterprise business unit. “The unique integration of ProtectDrive Enterprise Version with Microsoft’s widely deployed Active Directory is a perfect example of how our customers can use their existing IT management infrastructure to manage disk encryption.”
In addition to its distinctive integration capabilities, ProtectDrive Enterprise Version now provides protection for USB stick removable media. ProtectDrive Enterprise Version gives users a flexible approach to removable media with password-based access combined with centrally managed policies.

Data secured by ProtectDrive Enterprise Version is handled by SafeNet’s FIPS 140-2, Level 2-certified Crypto Graphic eXtensions Library (NIST certificate number 393) in run time demonstrating that these product functions meet stringent government standards and provides organizations with added security. SafeNet holds more than 70 FIPS certifications, representing a greater number than any other company.
