This contribution provides an overview of some of the security aspects of DSL-based corporate networks. With the expansion of the Internet and the increasing use of Internet technology inside the organization, more and more computing resources have become connected to networks that can potentially be reached from outside Ã‚Â and inside – the enterprise or individual PC, and from inside the enterprise as well. As connectivity increases, so does the risk of attack on the network or stand-alone PC. In this environment, two factors drive the need for a network security system: the need to maintain the integrity of data communications and the need to protect intellectual property and information assets.
