Network Box Announces UK Channel Recruitment Programme for Internet Security Device

Network Box today announced a programme to recruit UK resellers for its new Internet threat protection appliance.

Aimed at small and medium sized businesses (SMEs), Network Box integrates multiple protection technologies against a range of Internet threats into a single appliance. Over 2,500 devices have already been installed worldwide, mostly in Asia Pacific, and the company now wishes to build a distribution network across Europe and the UK.

Network Box product ranges are believed to be the UK’s most fully integrated Internet threat protection appliances supported by a continuous, round the clock, managed service. To date, no virus or worm has penetrated a Network Box system, anywhere in the world. The integrated devices provide virus and spam protection, a firewall, content filtering, VPN support for remote access, and intrusion detection. Since Network Box is remotely managed to maintain high levels of protection, no user interventions or configurations are required. This brings an added benefit that resellers can now offer their clients a broad range of branded security solutions without the parallel need to become certified in the support and maintenance of each package.

“Network Box is committed to offer all its channel partners full support. We will provide them with the tools to successfully sell into the SME sector.” Added Adrian Rowland, UK Operations Director at Network Box. “Since we continuously manage our devices round the clock from our own operations centres in the UK, resellers will be attracted by the opportunity of entering the lucrative security market with a broad based solution with ongoing service contract revenues.”

The first reseller to sign up with Network Box is AVT Systems Ltd. who will target SMEs in the M 25 area. “We are experiencing high demand for this type of product particularly among companies using broadband services for the first time.” said Martin King, Vendor Relations Manager at AVT Systems. “Network Box’s managed service allows us to enter the security market with a broad and robust solution without requiring us to invest significantly in multiple vendor training and certification”. Network Box products range from £1,750 for a SOHO system plus an annual management fee.

According to IDC*, security has become the number one priority for IT professionals, with expenditure in Western Europe reaching $1.6 billion in 2001 and with the UK the biggest spender. As Network Box units are already protecting networks worldwide, they are well positioned to capitalise on this growth market opportunity.

“The range is designed to fully meet the Internet security needs of smaller companies or regional offices of larger businesses, and therefore complements product portfolios of current security resellers, or creates a low investment opportunity for those looking to enter this increasingly important market.” added Rowland.
