Mandiant achieves FedRAMP Ready designation to improve security for federal agencies

Mandiant announced that it has earned Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Ready designation at the High Impact level for Mandiant Advantage Automated Defense.

Mandiant FedRAMP Ready designation

In achieving this designation, Mandiant enables federal agencies to leverage its accelerated threat detection, prioritization and response capabilities to confidently protect their most sensitive, unclassified data in cloud environments. The listing appears as Mandiant Advantage Services in the FedRAMP marketplace.

“Ensuring the cyber security of federal, state and local agencies is critical to the national security of our country and aligns with Mandiant’s mission to make every organization both secure from cyber threats and confident in their readiness,” said J.D. Jack, Vice President of U.S. Public Sector at Mandiant. “Securing FedRAMP Ready designation for Automated Defense lays the foundation for full FedRAMP authorization across our entire Mandiant Advantage platform and illustrates our continuous dedication to public sector customers, enabling them to drive innovation, enhance efficiency and improve effectiveness. This designation should also provide our governmental customers with the assurance that Mandiant is tirelessly working around the clock to help keep their data safe.”

One of four core solutions within the Mandiant Advantage SaaS platform, Automated Defense serves as a virtual extension of security operations. Powered by 18 years of frontline cyber security experience, data science and machine learning, Automated Defense is designed to intelligently and continuously triage, investigate and prioritize security alerts in real time from an organization’s diverse security stack.

The solution easily integrates into any security infrastructure, empowering security teams to make better decisions faster and at scale. In January 2022 alone, Automated Defense reduced more than 140 billion customer events down to less than 3,000 prioritized investigations.

A government-wide program, FedRAMP allows agencies to confidently use modern cloud technologies, with an emphasis on the security and protection of federal information. The program promotes the adoption of secure cloud services across the federal government by providing a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services.

In obtaining FedRAMP Ready designation at the High Impact level, Automated Defense is positioned to pursue full Authority to Operate in partnership with federal agencies. Mandiant worked with third-party assessment organizations (3PAO) Earthling Security and Lunarline to achieve this designation.
