Bridicum receives 4.2 million Euros investment

One of the exhibitors on the RSA Conference 2002 in Paris, Danish based Bridicum Security Group, announced that investitors from United Kingdom and Switzerland invested 4.2 million Euros (approx. the same in US dollars) in their company.

Bridicum Security Group was started three years ago by Henrik Falkenthros and Thomas Samuely Lund-Hansen, fellow students from the Technical University of Denmark. The idea was to offer a digital security service which can be compared to Group 4 Falck in the physical world. As an explanation, Group 4 Falck provides assistance to authorities and companies in order to meet their demands for phyisical safety and security. Bridicum Security Group started offering IT, Tele and WLAN security tests, plus helping companies introduce IT security policies.

The additional venture capital will be spent on establishing Bridicum Security Group in England, consolidating its position in Denmark and the rest of Scandinavia, and developing Bridicum Security Group’s unique security service “The Digital Guardian’. Digital Guardian, which is soon getting a world patent, is a 24×7 service that tests and monitors the security of companies’ IT and Tele systems, including applications, firewalls etc. Part of the financial injection will be spent on establishing a Security Monitoring Centre.

“This is the right time for bringing experienced and international investors into the company, and we are very happy we succeeded in doing it in a time when investors’ money is tight. To us, the financial injection is a recognition of our development of a unique security service which has proved its worth to some of the biggest companies in Denmark” says Thomas Samuely Lund-Hansen, one of the directors and founders of the company.
