Frederik Schroeder has been appointed VP of Strategic Partners and will lead the effort to further expand upon the success of the Weka Innovation Network and the Technology Alliance Program, accelerating adoption of WEKA technology by Strategic Partners including AWS, HPE, Supermicro, and Hitachi.

Weka’s next-generation software-defined data platform for all AI workloads is seeing incredible velocity through Global Strategic Partnerships that enable on-premises, cloud, and hybrid deployments. This velocity requires enhanced technical engagement and enablement with partners, along with expanded marketing and sales efforts, all of which will be led by Schroeder.

Schroeder joins Weka from Hitachi Vantara, where he was VP and GM of Global Inside Sales. He has held senior positions and led global sales and marketing organizations for more than a decade for companies including KPN, T-Systems, and Worldcom, which was bought by Verizon.

Sean Hiss joined Weka as the new VP of GTM Operations, responsible for essential go-to-market strategy and enablement programs, including market and competitive analysis, metrics and reporting. Hiss also joins the company from Hitachi Vantara, where he was VP of Marketing Strategy and Planning + Global Head of Revenue Marketing. He has held senior positions at Equinix, DataStax, Cisco, and Adobe Systems.

Weka’s extension of corporate leadership also includes Jonathan Martin, recently named President, and Amit Pandey, named Executive Chairman.

Overall growth has also led WekaIO to expand regional offices and local leadership in APAC and EMEA to serve its multimillion-dollar customers worldwide.

“At Weka’s stage of growth and with increasing opportunities from our partners, it is critical to bring in top talent who can guide the company to its next chapter,” said Liran Zvibel, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at WekaIO. “We are seeing significant demand from the Global 1000. There is a large appetite today for infrastructures that help organizations maximize the utility of their data. Sean and Frederik are both well versed in the shift to modern infrastructures for performance and scale, and I expect they will not only help Weka capitalize on this shift, they will help the industry as a whole understand how important it is to abandon legacy infrastructures that hold back innovation.”

Weka’s data platform addresses the challenges posed by modern workloads such as artificial intelligence, life sciences, financial services, high-performance data analytics, and containerized environments. With its unique software-defined architecture, customers can run on-premises, natively in the cloud, mix and match flash and disk, and orchestrate data effortlessly and economically.
