Compumatica Acquires Utimaco Safeware’s VPN Product Line
Compumatica Secure Networks To Take Over VPN Products of Utimaco Safeware´s Network Security Division
Oberursel, 20. February 2002 – From 1st March 2002, Utimaco Safeware will transfer the ownership of its Network Security division´s VPN product line to Compumatica secure networks. Compumatica secure networks, based in Aachen, is the German subsidiary of the Dutch network security supplier Compumatica secure networks, which has been one of Utimaco Safeware’s partners in the network security sector for many years. It has been very successful, particularly in providing products and services to government bodies.
Compumatica secure networks will further develop the CryptoGuard?? VPN hardware-based VPN products, including the Security Management Station, to meet the future requirements of the market, and sell them as part of its security integration projects. The company will also take on all obligations to existing customers arising from maintenance and support contracts. To Utimaco Safeware, this transaction means an additional license sale. Moreover, in Compumatica, Utimaco Safeware is gaining an additional channel for selling the CryptoBastion?? firewall technology, which is undergoing further development in Utimaco Safeware’s System House.
