TriCipher Receives Investment from Intel Capital
SAN FRANCISCO, CA., RSA Conference 2005 (Booth #1504) – February 15, 2005 — TriCipher, Inc., the innovator of strong authentication for the real world, today announced that Intel Capital joined in the second round equity financing from Trident Capital, ArrowPath Venture Capital and Wasatch Venture Capital, which was also announced today. In conjunction with the funding, Intel and TriCipher have entered into a technical and marketing cooperation agreement associated with Intel’s Digital Office initiative.
“Strong user authentication helps IT departments better secure their systems, safeguarding them against attacks such as phishing,” said David Grawrock, principle engineer and security architect for Intel’s Platform Architecture and Solution Division. “Intel’s plan to bolster the digital enterprise with silicon-based technology is complemented by TriCipher’s strong authentication solution. Additionally, TriCipher will use leading Intel server technology.” Grawrock will join the TriCipher Technical Advisory Board and Intel Capital will have a board observer on TriCipher’s Corporate Board.
“Authentication is in a state of crisis today, and legacy strong authentication solutions have clearly proved undeployable at any scale,” said Ravi Ganesan, Founder and CEO, TriCipher Inc. “By complementing the leading edge work Intel is doing in this space we continue to further improve our TriCipher Armored Credential System.”
