Fingerprint sensor on the new Motion J3400 tablet PC

AuthenTec announced that its fingerprint sensor has been integrated into the new Motion Computing J3400 rugged tablet PC, offering Power of Touch features including security, convenience and personalization. The J3400 tablet, which offers all day battery life and an industry-leading bright outdoor display, integrates AuthenTec’s AES2550 fingerprint sensor to protect the tablet PC, its stored data, and the networks to which it connects.

The J3400’s lightweight package, superior ergonomics and integrated features make it well suited for highly mobile tablet PC users across a variety of markets including healthcare, construction, field sales and service and government. AuthenTec’s AES2550 helps simplify password management while increasing data security on the J3400. The AES2550 offers improved fingerprint imaging, sensor durability and performance over the Company’s best-selling product ever, the AES2501.

The AES2550 brings convenient security to PC users by eliminating burdensome passwords and website logins, as well as Power of Touch features including security, convenience personalization and navigation. In addition to simplifying PC login, the AES2550 sensor’s AlwaysOn authentication capability greatly reduces security risks if a PC is lost or stolen, and allows users to leave their PCs unattended without fear that an unauthorized person might tamper with stored or network files.

The AES2550 reads below the surface of the skin to the live layer, where a person’s true fingerprint resides. This unique subsurface approach enables AuthenTec sensors to overcome common skin surface conditions to read virtually every fingerprint, every time.

The J3400 includes Intel Centrino 2 processor technology, a shock-resistant, high-intensity display screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Gobi mobile broadband connectivity, and a hot-swappable dual battery for all day computing.
