Testing Verifies Robust Security Capabilities of Company’s VPN/Firewall Appliances

SAN JOSE, Calif., July 16 /PRNewswire/ — RapidStream, Inc., the developer of scalable, integrated high-performance firewall and virtual private networking (VPN) appliances, today announced that its security products have earned IPSec certification from ICSA Labs, a division of TruSecure Corporation. The RapidStream 2000, RapidStream 4000, RapidStream 6000 and the RapidStream 8000, which all previously received ICSA Labs’ Firewall certification, were also awarded IPSec certification in this latest round of testing.

The goal of ICSA Labs’ Certification Program is to improve commercial computer trust and security. The program provides assurance that certified products reduce security risks consistent with a set of publicly vetted and industry accepted criteria. In IPSec certification specifically, products face a rigorous round of testing for authentication, data integrity, interoperability and confidentiality. Only those products that meet ICSA’s stringent guidelines are awarded IPSec certification.

“ICSA Labs strives to help consumers make what could be a very difficult decision in a crowded marketplace-which products are the best,” said George Japak, vice president for ICSA Labs. “Once again, RapidStream’s appliances were able to quickly pass ICSA Labs’ testing with the required results. This says a lot about RapidStream’s commitment to provide quality products to its customers.”

RapidStream’s solutions secure medium- to large-sized enterprises and protect every potential security risk from telecommuters to service providers. RapidStream’s products feature firewall throughput from 240 Mbps to 620 Mbps, and 50 Mbps to 360 Mbps of 3DES IPSec VPN throughput. The firewall capability handles between 4,000 and 128,000 concurrent sessions using between 200 and 20,000 IPSec tunnels, providing customers with high-speed data traffic flow. RapidStream President and CEO, Vince Liu said, “ICSA Labs is recognized as a worldwide leader in managed security solutions for Internet-connected organizations. The ability of RapidStream’s products to pass their latest round of rigorous testing is another assurance that we are providing some of the most robust security solutions on the market today.”
