Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS), a global leader in application serving and portal software and services, today announced the immediate availability of the company’s latest product, Citrix Secure Gateway (CSG). Using CSG, Citrix(R) MetaFrame XP(TM) for Windows(R) or MetaFrame(R) for UNIX(R) customers can achieve simple and secure delivery of Windows and UNIX applications across the Internet via Citrix NFuse(TM) application portal software. CSG secures all MetaFrame traffic traveling across the Internet via industry-standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) between MetaFrame clients and servers. CSG makes firewall traversal easier, provides heightened security with SSL encryption, simplifies application deployment and enables tight integration with MetaFrame and NFuse.

With CSG, the following benefits are achieved:

— Provides secure remote access – anywhere

— Lowers cost of ownership – leverages the Internet

— Protects your MetaFrame investment

— Integrates employees, customers, suppliers around the world

“As business continues to become more global and mobile, our customers need to provide users with secure access to business-critical applications regardless of their location or device,” said Larry Ritter, director and general manager, client server products, Citrix Systems. “With Citrix Secure Gateway, our customers can quickly and easily provide secure, Internet-based access to vital Windows and UNIX applications, thereby lowering operational costs while providing ubiquitous access for users.”

“Citrix Secure Gateway enables us to access all of our essential applications with only the standard SSL port open to firewalls, and with the benefit of SSL authentication and encryption,” said Corey Warrington, network engineer for the State of Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Affairs. “This added security, combined with CSG’s seamless integration with NFuse, gives us peace of mind, allows for easy Internet traversal, and eliminates the hassle of multiple program modifications. Another impressive feature is CSG’s ease of deployment. We were able to have it up and running on our network in less than 15 minutes. It’s that simple.”

Citrix Secure Gateway integrates seamlessly with third-party access control products such as SafeWord(TM) PremierAccess(TM) from Secure Computing, a Citrix Business Alliance(TM) (CBA) partner. SafeWord PremierAccess provides role-based access control to Web, VPN and network applications with powerful capabilities including the Universal Web Agent, user self-enrollment, and multiple authentication options.

“Citrix Secure Gateway, in combination with SafeWord PremierAccess, provides a personalized access control solution with strong authentication to MetaFrame published applications using any combination of one-time password tokens, digital certificates, smart cards or biometric devices,” said Jay Goldlist, vice president and general manager of the Enterprise Security Division at Secure Computing (Nasdaq:SCUR). “In addition to providing the assurance of positive identification to MetaFrame users, organizations also gain the benefit of single sign-on and role-based access control, ensuring authorized access to published applications with the minimum amount of user input.”
