Imperva Unveils SecureSphere Web Application Security Appliances

FOSTER CITY, Calif. – April 27, 2004 – Imperva, Inc., the world’s leading provider of advanced Web application security solutions, today announced the availability of its SecureSphere G4 Gateway and SecureSphere MX Management appliances. The new plug-and-play appliances – optimized for ease of deployment and management – protect Web applications and databases from a variety of attacks that slip through traditional perimeter firewall and intrusion detection systems.

“Imperva SecureSphere is unique in that it protects the entire application environment of web server, application server, and database engine against both external and internal threats,” said Eric Ogren, senior analyst at the Yankee Group. “SecureSphere’s correlated attack validation technology brings high accuracy and a proven management framework gives administrators an integrated, eagle-eye view of their applications and automatically adjusts to changes in application code, saving IT time and effectively protecting critical application assets.”

SecureSphere G4 Gateways are deployed in the path of Web and database application servers to prevent Web application hacks and database breaches from both internal and external sources. The SecureSphere MX Management Server provides a single vantage point for comprehensive attack protection – automatically delivering scalable enterprise security through centralized policy management, event correlation, status monitoring, logging, and reporting for one to dozens of gateways simultaneously.

“We serve our customers with iron-clad Web application and database protection that won’t block or slow down legitimate transactions,” said Shlomo Kramer, CEO of Imperva Inc. “Our new appliances make it even easier to protect against increasingly sophisticated Web site attacks that seriously threaten revenues, corporate brand, and customer confidence.”

Benefits of the new SecureSphere appliance solution package include:

· Risk-free Deployment: The SecureSphere G4 Gateway offers transparent deployment options. These options include transparent “sniffer” mode and in-line bridge mode with fail-open capability. In each mode, customers can configure the gateway to flexibly block attacks or set it to alert-only, depending upon the phase of deployment and threat level.

· Centralized Management: A three-tier management system allows security policy, system settings and product updates to be stored centrally and automatically distributed to multiple gateways with a single click. In addition, alerts, logging, and graphical reporting for dozens of servers are automatically consolidated and presented to the administrator in an integrated view.

· Strong Security with No Manual Configuration: A typical SecureSphere installation can be completed within 30 minutes with no manual policy configuration or tuning. SecureSphere’s Correlated Attack Validation (CAV) and Persistent Learning capabilities identify and block suspicious user sessions while continuously adjusting to changes in application and database structure.

The Imperva SecureSphere G4 Gateway and SecureSphere MX Management Server appliances are available immediately worldwide. Pricing for the complete SecureSphere web application security and centralized management appliance solution starts at $30,000.
