SSH Unveils SSH Tectia End-To-End Communications Security For Full Range Of IBM Eserver Linux Platforms

HELSINKI, FINLAND and LINUXWORLD BOSTON, Mass. – Feb. 16, 2005 – SSH Communications Security Corp. (HEX:SSH1V), a world-leading provider of enterprise security solutions and end-to-end communications security, and the original developer of the Secure Shell protocol, today announced new versions of its SSH Tectia(TM) solution. SSH Tectia, the leading end-to-end communications security solution for the enterprise, now supports Linux running on a wide range of IBM® eServerTM platforms, including the zSeries®, iSeriesTM, pSeries®, OpenPowerTM, and BladeCenterTM JS20 servers. According to IBM, the SSH security solution is the 1000th application available for the IBM Linux on POWERTM platform, a result of increasing ISV enthusiasm since it was introduced in November of 2002.

The new versions of the SSH Tectia solution will provide the broad base of IBM system users with robust, comprehensive enterprise security, including secure system administration, secure application connectivity, and secure file transfer functionality. As an IBM Business Partner, SSH has developed its SSH Tectia support for eServer platforms in cooperation with IBM by participation in the pilot program for the IBM eServer Application AdvantageTM for Linux (Chiphopper) offering.

“The SSH Tectia solution specifically addresses end-to-end security issues – system administration, application connectivity, and file transfer – that need to be closely managed within the extended enterprise,” said Mark Lillycrop, CEO of Arcati Research. “By providing consistent functionality for the whole IBM eServer Linux line, in addition to the recently announced native z/OS product for the mainframe, SSH has added very significantly to the IBM security tools repertoire. The announcement also demonstrates how rapidly new Linux-based solutions can now be deployed across the IBM eServer environment.”

“The IBM eServer Application Advantage for Linux (Chiphopper) offering has enabled us to minimize our time-to-market and total-cost-of-investment to deliver our SSH Tectia software for multiple IBM eServer platforms.” said George Adams, president and CEO of SSH Communications Security, Inc. “This broad user group has needed secure end-to-end communications, making them vulnerable to threats inside and out of the organization. Through the Chiphopper offering, we have been able to port our end-to-end communications security solution to multiple IBM eServer platforms such as IBM eServer OpenPower in record time. SSH Tectia can now be deployed throughout the organization to protect the vital corporate data.”

SSH now provides for the first time an easy-to-deploy secure end-to-end communications solution across all major internal and external enterprise network communications IT platforms, including major UNIX versions, Linux, Windows, and IBM mainframes.

“Linux on POWER clients demand the ability to safely share accurate, up-to-the second information across the enterprise, said Brian Connors, vice president of Linux on POWER, IBM. “We’re able to address those concerns with Linux on POWER offerings by working with leading solution providers like SSH Communications Security to provide flexible, reliable, high-performance Linux solutions to help clients manage and secure every aspect of their IT operations.”

In addition, this new SSH Tectia support perfectly complements SSH’s solution for IBM eServer zSeries servers, recently announced, on Jan. 24. SSH now provides the industry’s first enterprise security solution to fully integrate the well-established Secure Shell protocol for IBM mainframes and run native on the IBM z/OS® platform. SSH Tectia also supports IBM AIX and, Linux and Windows for the Intel-based IBM xSeries servers.

Pricing and Availability
The new version of the SSH Tectia solution for the POWER platforms and zSeries is accessible now via limited availability, and will be generally available at the end of March. Pricing will vary depending on the number and type of applications supported and the number of clients. Contact your SSH sales professional, or go to www.ssh.com for more information.
