Quarterly report on malware evolution
Kaspersky Lab presented its quarterly analysis report for January – March 2006. The report provides information on the first virus capable of infecting both mobile devices and PCs; and provides detailed information on other burgeoning threats, such as cyber criminals who are resorting to blackmail by encrypting company data then extorting money to decrypt the data; the increasing number of malicious programs for Mac OS X, as well as malicious programs for mobile devices.
The report, written by Kaspersky Lab virus analysts, not only describes and assesses new cyber threats and identifies important trends, it also makes predictions for the evolution of malicious code. Read it over here.
