Securing Wi-Fi networks with a new Mac OS X security tool

Periodik Labs announced the immediate availability of Elektron 1.2, the latest version of its award-winning software for securing small business Wi-Fi networks. The software brings easy to use, enterprise-level Wi-Fi security to businesses without a full time IT staff.

The software provides RADIUS authentication services to WPA Enterprise capable wireless access points, including popular hardware from manufacturers like Apple, Linksys, D-Link, Cisco, and Netgear. WPA Enterprise is the standard specified by the Wi-Fi Alliance for the strongest available wireless network security. Elektron is the first non-proprietary server solution to bring WPA Enterprise security to small businesses.

Elektron contains support for the latest Wi-Fi security standards, including PEAP and TTLS. Elektron is compatible with the Wi-Fi client software built into Mac OS X 10.3. This release is the first version of Elektron available as a Universal Binary. The price is set to $299.99.
