PGP announces major upgrade to entire product portfolio
PGP Corporation, a global leader in enterprise data security and encryption solutions, has announced the availability of significant application upgrades across its portfolio, including new versions of PGP Whole Disk Encryption, PGP Universal Server, PGP Universal Gateway Email, and PGP Desktop. The company also announced the availability of PGP NetShare, which enables teams to manage and share encrypted network-based files.
These PGP Encryption Platform-enabled applications are designed to meet customer requirements for rapidly deployable encryption solutions with consistent policy enforcement and key management. Recently designated as the lead vendor in use for both email and data encryption software in a survey of Fortune 1000 companies by TheInfoPro, PGP Corporation continues to raise the bar for delivering comprehensive, cost-effective encryption solutions for global enterprises of all sizes.
New Application – PGP NetShare: Network File Encryption Solution Now Shipping
Now available, PGP NetShare enables enterprises to protect valuable data that is commonly shared across multiple project teams and among employees and outside contractors and partners. A PGP Encryption Platform-enabled application, PGP NetShare automatically encrypts files saved to shared network folders, ensuring that only authorised users can read or modify the content. Without affecting user behavior, applications, or workflow, PGP NetShare increases productivity by delivering complete data protection on the network server, over the network, and on the desktop for all common digital formats-documents, spreadsheets, presentations, Web, video, and audio-without modification.
Enhanced PGP Applications: Fully Integrated, Platform-Enabled, Enterprise-Ready
PGP Whole Disk Encryption protects intellectual property, customer data, and brand equity with transparent, full disk encryption that locks down a drive without changing user behavior or workflow. The application secures data from multiple threats with a single, centrally managed client, making theft or loss of a system or removable media far less damaging to a user or business. It also provides safe, single sign-on to Microsoft Windows through password synchronization, and is available for Mac OS X non-boot drives, enabling removable media to be encrypted and shared between users on different operating systems.
PGP Universal Gateway Email delivers the same multiple standards-based options for securing email with expanded mail policy granularity by encrypting messages that match administrator specifications for both inbound and outbound email. The application also includes enhancements to PGP Universal Web Messenger, which enables secure communications with partners or suppliers that do not have an encryption solution. This latest version now supports large message delivery, up to 50MB, and reduces storage requirements by removing messages according to a message aging policy.
The PGP Encryption Platform lowers operational costs and accelerates application deployment through a single management console for centralised policy and configuration. The platform provides multiple layers of encryption across a global enterprise with comprehensive policy enforcement, key management, recovery, and reporting services. A true enterprise offering, the PGP Encryption Platform is extensible, providing standards-based interfaces for third-party developers, such as Research In Motion (RIM), to leverage services. The RIM-developed PGP Support Package for BlackBerry uses the same keys, policies, and configuration as other PGP Encryption Platform-enabled applications. The platform also integrates with third-party enterprise solutions, including directory services and PKIs as well as email hygiene and outbound content compliance solutions.
