F-Secure Messaging Security Gateway goes virtual to tackle spam

F-Secure announced the availability of its next-generation messaging security solutions, F-Secure Messaging Security Gateway appliance which blocks spam and viruses alreade at the gateway level. F-Secure Messaging Security Gateway version 4 comes with improved usability, mail queue management and support for more complex email infrastructures.

While the Messaging Security Gateway is available in three different physical hardware configurations, the award-winning hardware appliance is now also available utilizing VMware’s virtualization platform.  All four versions including the virtual appliance feature the same anti-spam, anti-virus and anti-phishing features as well as an optional zero-hour protection against fast-spreading email viruses.

The new optional Zero-Hour Antivirus Module is an important addition to Gateway appliance to protect enterprises against fast-spreading viruses. During the critical first hours of a new virus outbreak before traditional anti-virus signatures have been updated, the Module offers an effective first line of defence.

“Many organizations are overloaded by email-borne spam and viruses. As the number increases, so too does the importance of heightened spam and virus detection rates as well as the ease by which mail filtering capacity can be increased,” says Ari Alakiuttu, Vice President of Product Marketing. “I believe that the new additions to the F-Secure Messaging Security product line will ensure increased email productivity and peace of mind.”
