RSA 2007: Ally ReconAlert Windows monitoring freeware announced
Arxceo Corporationtoday announced the availability of Arxceo Ally ReconAlert, a free software package for Windows that enables network administrators to continuously monitor Syslog output from their Ally ip100 security appliance. The Ally ip100 is designed to protect small-to-medium-sized business networks, as well as an Enterprise’s wireless access points and branch or remote offices from network reconnaissance, zero-day attacks, DNS cache poisoning and denial of service attacks. Arxceo’s ReconAlert provides centralized real-time popup alerts as soon as events occur.
Arxceo’s ReconAlert is simple to install and requires no SNMP or Syslog server configuration. The software can start automatically upon Windows startup and can be minimized or configured on the user’s PC. ReconAlert viewing enhancements include the ability to sort the various columns of captured information such as device name, date or event type. For example, the administrator can filter the ReconAlert to provide alerts on only certain types of events such as blacklistings or password changes. The information is automatically color-coded depending on type. Administrators can also store current displays through a snapshot option. In addition, alerts from numerous Ally ip100s can be centralized to one or two PCs giving users greater visibility from a single location.
