A closer look at Clean Disk Security 7.5.6

This program gives you secure file deletion, making sure that deleted files cannot be “undeleted” again. As you know, deleting a file normally just removes the file’s directory entry, but the data itself remains on the disk.

As you can see from the image above, the graphical user interface is a bit different than what you would expect from a security tool. I didn’t like the looks and feel of it, but never mind. From this place you can chose what kind of data you would like to get rid of.

Besides the general software options, “Clean Disk Security” will also give you a glimpse on the cookies and various plug-ins installed on your computer.

The Direct Disk view makes it easier to find specific data locations and securely delete the portions of data you think are either obsolete or useless.

This program can also clean the Window’s swap file, and can optionally clean unneeded temporary files from your hard disk, such as your Internet browser cache, files in your system’s Recycle Bin or the ones located in the “recent files” list.
