MXI Security announced that the new 2.5-inch Outbacker MXPTM has received FIPS 140-2 Level 2 validation, Certificate number 1022. More versatile and secure than standard USB devices, the Outbacker MXP is suited ideally for government agencies and organizations that require mass-capacity secure storage for portable data and fully-portable desktops. It is the first and only hard disk USB portable security device to receive a full product FIPS 140-2 Level 2 validation.
The Outbacker MXP features AES 256-bit transparent hardware encryption and strong three-factor authentication (biometric, password and identity credential) for network logins/SSO, remote access, and full disk encryption with total portability.
The Outbacker MXP product family has the capacity to protect up to 320GB of data and offers advanced digital identity features including: secure portability of digital certificates, encryption keys, RSA SecurID soft tokens, and static application credentials – as well as SAML for WS-Trust claims-based identity transactions. Both products can accommodate up to five users and offer advanced management capabilities such as help-desk functions, device recovery, and device recycling with the ACCESS EnterpriseTM device lifecycle management software.
