Facebook users alarmed by “Unnamed” application
A cleverly orchestrated campaign taking advantage of a “Unnamed app” that can be found in the Application Settings of some people’s Facebook account has been set up by cybercriminals aiming to get you to download fake anti-virus software.
You may have received this kind of message in your inbox or seen it on a friend’s Wall:
ALERT >>>>> Has your facebook been running slow lately? Go to “Settings” and select “application settings”, change the dropdown box to “added to profile”. If you see one in there called “un named app” delete it-Â¦ Its an internal spybot. Pass it on. about a minute ago-Â¦.i checked and it was on mine.
There is no link to go with it, but if you go search on Google, you will be presented with some malicious links:
As with the iPad SEO poisoning campaign, the links will lead you the “Live PC Care” fake AV software.
