Metasploit training program launched

Rapid7 and SANS will provide comprehensive training to the growing global community of Metasploit Framework users.

The Metasploit Framework is an open source project managed by Rapid7 that provides the world’s largest database of public, tested exploits for security professionals, researchers and penetration testers to use to test for holes across a variety of systems.

“As more security professionals turn to Metasploit for their penetration testing needs, we’ve realized that there is a growing requirement for high quality education,” said HD Moore, Rapid7 CSO and Metasploit chief architect. “As a result of our partnership with SANS, Rapid7 will now be able to leverage SANS’ extensive training experience to educate security professionals and help them expand their penetration testing skills.”

Ed Skoudis, co-author of the new course, explained, “We built this course to cover the latest and most powerful features of Metasploit, with some of the most in-depth exercises we’ve ever created, all with the goal of providing real-world, practical knowledge about penetration testing and vulnerability assessment with Metasploit.”

Training will be offered in multiple formats including face-to-face instructor led, Web-based live instruction and self-paced online training.
