Black Hat USA 2010: A recession proof conference?

Black Hat, one of the world’s premier information security events, opened its doors this week in sunny Las Vegas, Nevada.

The conference features ten tracks covering a wide range of topics. It’s been said time and time before that the security industry is recession proof so it’s no wonder that unofficial data shows that attendance up 35% from last year. By looking at the halls, it’s easy to believe those numbers since they are packed with attendees from all over the world.

Besides the interesting tracks, attendees can visit the expo hall where many of the industry’s players have setup booths to showcase products. Some of the companies getting heavy foot traffic and having people line up to visit and see a demo.
