Scammers asking for donations for bogus Steve Jobs charity

Before his death, Apple CEO Steve Jobs was well known for not giving donations to charities or setting up foundations for various humanitarian causes, so it may come as a surprise to many that there is a foundation out there that bears his name and aims to help “young webcoders.”

In truth, there isn’t. I you have received the aforementioned email, don’t fall for the spiel, warns Trend Micro. The account included in the email to which you are asked to send money is actually one belonging to an online casino payment site.

Nearly three weeks have passed since Jobs’ death and cyber scammers are still trying to take advantage of the fact, so be careful – this particular scam might still not be the last.
