EA password reset due to LulzSec hack?

Electronic Arts (EA) customers have been receiving emails from the company notifying them that their passwords have been reset “to ensure account security”.

Graham Cluley says that the warning appears to be legitimate, even though it contains a direct link to the settings in the user accounts.

“Changing you password regularly is always helpful to protect your account,” says in the email, and there are no hints about whether this password reset is a direct consequence of the last LulzSec data dump, which contained a file with over half a million login credentials belonging to the EA’s Battlefield Heroes’ players.

In any case, even if these emails are legitimate, it is always a good idea to refrain from following offered links in such emails and access your account in the regular way, then surf to the account settings.
